It’s pretty safe to say that smoothie bowls are taking over breakfast. From your typical magenta acai to vibrant green, these bowls are anything but boring. Now, you can make your own gorgeous smoothie bowls at home—and it’s so much easier than you think.

Blogger and author Carissa Bonham of Creative Green Living collaborated with her favorite clean-eating bloggers to create Beautiful Smoothie Bowls so you can skip the juice bar line and make Insta-worthy smoothie bowls at home with easily accessible ingredients. What You’ll Need

Smoothie Bowl

  • 2 cups frozen Supergreens mix (baby spinach, baby kale, baby Swiss chard)
  • 1¼ cups full-fat coconut milk
  • ½ small avocado, peeled, cubed, and frozen
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp blue-green algae/spirulina
  • ¼ cup black sesame seeds
  • 2 dates, pitted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Toppings

  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp coconut shavings
  • 6 roasted cashews
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds
  • Mint leaves, to taste
  • ¼ cup blueberry and blackberry mix

Directions

Step 1: Combine all smoothie bowl ingredients in a blender jar and blend until smooth and no chunks remain.

Step 2: Pour into a bowl and add toppings.

Pro tip: To make smoothies easier to prepare the day-of, pre-cube and freeze avocado halves and premeasure and freeze fresh supergreens blend in zip-top bags so they are ready to go when it’s smoothie time!

 

Northwest Summer

  • 1 medium banana, peeled
  • ½ cup frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup frozen peaches
  • ¾ cup coconut water

Toppings

  • ¼ cup dry coconut pieces
  • ¼ cup raw cashews
  • 4 fresh mint leaves
  • 5 fresh violas (flowers)

Directions

Step 1: Combine all smoothie bowl ingredients in a blender jar and blend until smooth and no chunks remain.

Step 2: Pour into a bowl and add toppings.

Pro tip: For a more authentically Northwest experience, substitute crushed hazelnuts for the cashews in the toppings.
